Animal adoption is a wonderful thing. Giving a lonely sheltered dog or cat a chance to experience a loving family. When a person adopts an animal from a shelter, a life is being saved. Now how is that a life is being saved? Well because of the thousands of strays brought into shelters a day, the shelters run out of room to house the animals brought to the shelter. As thousands of animals are being brought into the shelter, thousands of the currently residing animals are being euthanized, or put down. This is what many shelters must do to make room for incoming stray animals such as cats, dogs, birds, and more.

Adopting an animal can bring a person great amounts of joy and it is proven that dogs adopted from animal shelters become extremely attached to those who adopt them. Bonds can be formed that can last for years to come for those who adopt shelter animals. So when the idea of getting a pet comes to mind, think shelter adoption as the first choice. Not only can a person make a loyal friend, but they can save a life in the process and give an animal a new and joyful beginning.

I personally love shelter animals, I find them a lot more loving than store bought dogs. Plus, it's always nice to think that you're possibly giving them a better home than they previously had.
ReplyDeleteI love animals. My dog is my life. I didn't get it from a shelter, but it was going to one if I had not gotten it. I do agree with Jasmine about how it feels great that you can possibly give a animal a better home.
