The Marvel writers wanted to create heroes that readers and viewers could relate to, characters that people could look up. But they also created them with meaning. In the Marvel film Captain America, the First Avenger, The most pure hearted young man named Steve Rogers was selected to become the first American super soldier. He was created and written to be not only a strong soldier or a good man, rather he was created to be a symbol of hope. Captain America was created during WWII as a symbol of patriotism and hope to show that the people were strong.
